In 2007 I built The Montrose Portrait Gallery of Canada in my garage. In response to the federal government’s cancellation of the National Portrait Gallery, I invited portrait artists artist to show in my garage. Multiple shows and years later, the gallery is still is a going concern, but plans are underway to renovate the space (at no cost to the taxpayer).
